We stayed for a week in August and had a fantastic time. The house is charming and manages to be homely without feeling you are in somebody else's home - it really feels like yours for the time you are there. Plenty of space for us and our two teenagers who took the upstairs rooms with their own bathroom. Exceptionally well equipped with everything you could possibly need even down to beach towels and mats. It was just a ten minute walk to MacKenzie Beach which felt even shorter as you can see the beach after the first turn. There is a small grocery store at the bottom of the road or a short drive into Tofino iteslf for good sized Co-Op supermarket and the legendary Big Daddy's Fish Fry. This visit we disovered gorgeous, deserted Schooner Cove (20 min drive along Pacific Rim road)reached via a lovely boardwalk forest trail and Tonquin beach - a beautiful cove on Tofino's far side. It was great to come back to the house and relax on the big squashy sofas with views of the surrounding forest. Having stayed at a nearby resort before we much preferred the space, privacy and comfort of "our" Tofino Hideaway. Much better value as a family too. And the little covered verandah with comfy chairs mean you can channel your inner Ma Walton to your heart's content. Perfect.
