Founded by French Speaking immigrants from Quebec and the United States, this lovely town still maintains it historical charm, yet has a modern edge to it. This is really the place for water sports. Many visitors have had unforgettable experiences at Wild Rapids Waterslides, racing through the slides at a high speed or enjoying a ride on the pleasure boats. The cold water isn’t enough to stop avid swimmers, as one can enjoy the award winning Aquatic Centre, scuba diving or just grabbing an inflatable toy and floating on the serene waters. Sailors can enjoy the Sylvan Lake Sailing Club race every Wednesday right through summer.

For those opting for a more relaxed time, there are several wonderful golf courses to practice one’s swing, a wonderful masseuse to ease the tension of a long week. One can just bask in the beauty of the sunset and drink in the clear view of the Northern Lights from one’s lawn at night.

For the adventurous, battle things out with a few rounds of paintball, race away at the Lakeside Go-Karts or go extreme at the skateboard park. This place really has it all as there are also playgrounds and parks where one can enjoy a round of tennis, play Frisbee, ride a bike or take a dog for a long walk.
