Located within the Banff National Park, Sunshine Village offers a variety of terrain ranging from gentle tree lined beginner slopes to demanding expert slopes (generously sprawled over 3,300 acres!). Sunshine village is comprised of three mountain peaks - Mount Standish, Lookout Mountain, and Goat's Eye Mountain. All of these factors combined with the fact that Sunshine Village receives up to three times the regular amount of snowfall (the renowned light, dry Rocky Mountain “Champagne Powder”) makes this a must visit for any winter sports enthusiast.

First “discovered” by two local extreme sports enthusiasts in 1929 as a fantastic skiing destination, Sunshine Village has steadily become a firm favourite with skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts. Major Snowboarding and skiing events have been hosted by Sunshine Village and over 500,000 visitors make their way onto the slopes each winter.

The snowboard runs, ski runs and lifts are all accessed by the famous high-speed 8 seater gondola. Allow yourself to be whizzed up an impressive 1,650 vertical feet from the parking lot whilst you soak in the view. Once you reach the end of the gondola ride you then have the choice of over 10 chairlifts and 107 trails shooting off in every direction. Sunshine Village is fully equipped with all modern amenities – a mountain village, sleeper accommodation, restaurant and a gear rental shop. A true winter paradise!
